Paul’s controversial award-winning two-parter on the STARDUST disco fire won ‘Best Drama’ at the Irish Film & Television Awards 2007 (Merlin Films for RTE, produced by Norman Siderow, directed by Ciaran Donnelly).
As well as developing original television drama work, Paul has been a long-time contributor to long-running series. He was Story Producer on BBC Scotland’s RIVER CITY from January-December 2014 and on RED ROCK Season 1 (Element Pictures/Company Pictures for TV3, Ireland, 2015). He went on to Studio Produce RED ROCK Season 2 and was Series Producer (Editorial) on Season 3 of the show. He has also been on writing duties on both Season 2 and Season 3. The series won ‘Best Soap’ at the Irish Film and Television Awards 2016 and Paul was also nominated as ‘Best Writer’ for his work on the show.
Paul was Showrunner/Writer of RED ROCK Season 4 where he developed a unique new writers room process.

He is currently writing for the International drama series SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE and EASTENDERS.

Paul has also just finished working with BBC Sounds writing for the acclaimed 'Obscene: A Dublin Scandal.

Other work for television includes De Facto Films’ drama series AN BRONNTANAS for TG4, Ireland, which Paul co-wrote with director Tom Collins. It was Ireland’s entry for the Foreign Language category of the 2015 Academy Awards. The television version was nominated in the Scripted Drama category of the Irish Film and Television Awards 2015. Paul also wrote and directed the short film Prejudice as part of the darklight film festival (Producer Alan Keane).

Feature film projects developed include NORWEGIAN WOOD with development funding from the Irish Film Board and THE LAST WITCH for director William Roe, both with Danú Media. The Irish Film Board have also funded Celtic epic THE NAVIGATOR which Paul is currently co-writing with director David Keane for Black Sheep Productions.
Paul was nominated for the Writers Guild of Ireland’s Best Scriptwriter award 2018.

Paul also mentors his own unique beginners scriptwriting course where he take a group through the fundamentals of writing for stage and screen , beginning with a blank page and ending with a fully constructed 15 minute stage play by the end of the process. He is an affiliated mentor of BBC Writers Academy, ScreenIreland and co-created the Wexford Writers Academy.

As a script doctor/consultant Paul has worked with a variety of scriptwriters to enhance their scripts for broadcast and production.
